Just In Case You Care

One little dragon decided to come out and play today. All the other eggs look just fine, so they may be hatching within the next few days. If any of you want to come over and watch please do!

If I had a camera I would send a picture along, but it seems to be possessed with an evil spirit right now. No photos available. Only personal visits.

Brown Update

So here's the latest Tiger picture. It's a good one -- you can see how big she is getting. Yes, I said SHE. We found out for sure she is a Tigress. We are in Rigby for Spring break, and she is being watched by a friend who has a male bearded dragon. They are in glass tanks right next to each other, and apparently they are both going crazy trying to get at each other. Tiger isn't quite a year old, so we'll wait until about September and then let them mate and see what happens. I'm kind of excited for it! How are your eggs doing Jeny? They should be about ready to hatch, right? I read up a little on breeding them. I had no idea they could have so many eggs in one season! Up to nine clutches a year (September to May) and up to 24 eggs in a clutch! That could be a very lucrative hobby if they successfully hatch! Anyway, Tiger has calmed down quite a bit. She lets us hold her now without biting at us, though she still does get nervous being held. We gave her a bath and cleaned out her tank last week. I don't know if she liked it or not. She didn't move a muscle the whole time she was in the water. It was a little eerie.

For a quick update, we all have Spring break at the same time! Yay. So we are in Rigby visiting. Jason's Uncle Roy (the car guy) in Pocatello has pancreatic cancer that has moved into his lungs. So we'll head down to Pocatello for a day and visit him too (probably for the last time). The weather is beautiful here, and was in Moscow before we left too. Sunshine and spring-like temps. The kids are at a park right now with some cousins.

School is going well for all of us. Jason is bored with most of his classes, but I think he prefers that to the insanity he had last year. He even has time to do research and write briefs for lawyers in town, which he does quite regularly. He gets his partial license after this semester, and will probably work for a public defender in Moscow this summer and through next year. I still have a whole year of prerequisites to take, but the classes I'm in now are large and I'm not the oldest person, so it's not as humiliating as last semester. I'm finally getting into a groove, so I'm not as stressed and emotional as I was last semester. The kids are all doing great. I got a letter in the mail last week saying that my son will enter high school next year, so it's time to think about college entrance requirements and make an education plan for him for the next four years. CRAZY!!! I'm not old enough to have a son in high school!! Makes me sad. I only have him for 5 more years, then he'll be gone on a mission and then to college and then married. It's going too fast.

I realized I haven't sent answers to the questions of the month for the last few months. So here are my catch-up answers. Wow, this is a long post. Starting from the most recent: I think my favorite aunt or uncle was a different person at different times. Aunt Lynn was always close to the grandparents, and Heidi, Holly, and I spent the night there often when we went to visit. Aunt Julie was close too, and it was always fun to see her, ride her horses, pick her grapes, wrestle with Uncle John. Seems like we didn't see her as often after Grandma died. She's probably my favorite now, if only because she's been so constant in keeping contact. I got fairly close to Uncle Jon for a couple of months when he was staying with us when I was in high school. He was a friend at a tough time in my life.

So driving. Dad mostly taught me to drive. Amy taught me some too. I started to learn on a stick, and I think Dad gave that up as a lost cause and switched me over to the automatic until I wrecked the Taurus a couple of times. Then he made me learn a stick because the insurance was less on the Tempo. I wrecked that too. That one wasn't my fault, though. Amy mostly taught me the stick shift on her little red Ford. I almost wrecked that too. I'm actually a good driver now. Haven't had a wreck since my teenage years!

Guess that's all I've missed. We love and miss you all! Can't wait for the reunion!
