Supercook
Okay, I know I'm a dork, but this is the coolest website I've seen in a while! You enter some of the items you already have in your kitchen and you get a list of recipes that use just those items. Play with it...you might get hooked!

The Little Lauritzen Family Going Private!
Hopefully you all got an invite to the family blog. I need to go private. If for some reason you didn't get the invite let me know and I'll send it again.
Holly's 4th of July
I don't really have any 4th of July traditions because I spent a lot of years in college and on a mission, so I usually just went wherever I was invited. That hasn't really changed since I got married. Generally there are hotdogs and hamburgers involved, some small street fireworks, then watching whatever show we can see from wherever we are. When I lived in Provo I went to the parade with Dave and Tricia's family, but since we moved it is too hard to get up that early.
Mom Catching Up...
I guess I should contribute to the blog if I expect others to do it. We had a great trip. It was lots of fun. I only wish we could have stayed longer. I'm so excited that the dragon was born. I really want to see it.
I have thought and thought. I can't think of any triumphs. Maybe that I get up every morning and go to work 3 days a week.
The fourth of July was a lot of fun when I was young. We would go to the parade then to the bazaar that the Relief Society did every year downtown. After that and a few carnival rides we'd go home and have a great big picnic on the front lawn. We had lots of family in Utah and they'd all come down-my mom's families. When I turned 12, I started participating in Panorama. It's now known as the Stadium of Fire. I did that for about 6 years. Was a dancer for a couple of years, then in choruses. I did "Summertime" when we did a bit from shows popular at the time. I was on our ward float one year. They showed that at Panorama as the winning one. It was fun because we were on the stage to watch the fireworks. Since we moved to Colorado there hasn't been that much to do. At Memorial Park they have a big shindig with the Colorado Springs Symphony and fireworks, booths and rides. We never went because we were usually in Utah picking the cherries at Grandma and Grandpa's. This year they canceled the fireworks because of the cost. We didn't do anything. I guess we're too old and don't like crowds very much.

More Birthdays!
Heidi's 4th of July
What we do for the 4th of July depends on where we are at the time. If it's at all possible to get to the Stadium of Fire, we go. Jason went there a lot during his childhood and misses it very much. We would fix some snacks and dinner, take it to the parking lot lawn and eat until they let us in the stadium. While living in Blacksburg, I was able to join the community chorus each year to sing patriotic songs (along with the community band) on the evening of the 4th, then we walked to the High School where they did fireworks. Here in Danville we do much the same thing, only they don't have the community chorus and the fireworks are done alongside the Susquehanna. Fireflies definitely add something to the evening! My kids know now that as soon as they start seeing fireflies light up, the show's about to begin. I guess our only set in stone tradition is the food. We always have fried chicken and mint brownies. I'm not sure why mint brownies, but they're delicious. We love the 4th! It's Ashley's and Jason's favorite holiday.
It's Always Fun When Grandpa Comes......
. . . and babysits Leah while we go Geocaching! Here are some (ok, lots) of pictures of us going geocaching today. Mindy, Holly and their kids came on a gentle hike in flipflops, and we ended up doing more than we should have in flip flops, but it was still prety fun. Jonah caught grasshoppers and Megan and I caught preying mantises (manti?) so now my roses can be aphid free. YAY! We found 2 caches and the gentle walk helped all the back pained people get out and move around a bit. We're pathetic. We had fun.

Amy's New Address
We have finally gotten all moved in to our new home! I emptied the last box just a few hours ago and it's all put away except for the pictures. And it's been too hot to put up the trampoline. But everything else is done. What a relief! And without even trying we ended up in Lori's old ward. Our new info is:
9830 Morningfield
San Antonio, TX 78250
(210)338-5359
Email addresses and cell phone numbers will stay the same. We have lots of room so if anyone wants to come visit...!
Amy's 4th of July
We don't really have any traditions for the 4th. We always seem to be in a new place or out of town or something so it's different. One year we had fondue on the living room floor because we felt like it. We always go somewhere to see fireworks, of course, but nothing else that we do every year.

New Question of the Week. Answer It!
There has been quite a lull in the blogging on this blog lately. Actually, on all of our blogs. I haven't really had anything to post on this blog lately. So I am doing a new question of the week. Please answer it.
Do you have 4th of July traditions? If so, what are they? What's your favorite thing to do on the 4th of July?

Heidi's Most Recent Triumph
My most recent triumph is the framing being officially DONE for the basement bedroom!! We have an electrician coming next week for the wiring, then we put actual walls up! It's very exciting to finally see this getting so close. The girls are really getting cabin fever sharing one room. The not so exciting part was picking out carpeting yesterday. It's worth it's weight in gold.
