My best childhood friend was Jackee Buckley. We did everything together. I especially remember going over to her house every Sunday night to watch Bonanza and eat barbequed potato chips with a kippered snacks and cottage cheese did. I loved that. We didn't have a TV then yet and I never really got to eat potato chips.

I don't have one "special" friend from you youth. We moved too often to focus on just one. Perhaps the best friend I have and have continued to correspond with every Christmas is Jack O'Donnell. I attended 8th grade in Bellevue, ID, with Jack. He at that time was the national junior trapshooting champion. He went on to become an officer in the US Army (at least a Major). We played basketball together and competed in all school subjects. Good memories.
