Amy Prefers....

I guess I'm a little behind so let me catch up. Opera is definitely more enjoyable for me IF the singers are good. Otherwise I spend the whole show criticizing. And for me the same is usually true in the theater. I don't like to see a play without music but most of the singing talent used these days in theater productions lacks substance and I can't stand it. My favorite Opera that I've seen would have to be Lucia di Lamermoor. Great music and the staging was wonderful!

By the way, for those of you who don't know, I am officially a college student again. I am starting in August with College Algebra and General Psychology. Right now I am taking the classes online but next semester I will have to be in the classroom for A&P. It's kind of scary but I'm also excited.

Last night we all auditioned for a local production of The Music Man. Well, all but Payne. They decided Zack was too young after about 5 minutes (or less) and Alex got stuck in with the teenagers cause they lost his form. Josh didn't even get to try for Winthrop-I guess they thought he was too young. Anyway, we got a call today that they don't want to use any of the kids. I'm disappointed because I know how talented they are and I feel like they didn't get a chance to really show it because they did everything in groups. But the only one that was really disappointed was Josh. He was looking forward to it. They asked my barbershop quartet to play the pick-a-little ladies and they asked me to understudy Marian. It will be fun, but I wish I were doing it with my family. Well, that's all from here. I hope everyone has a good week!
