My in laws were here from Thursday afternoon until very early this
morning. They brought the rest of our stuff up. It's good to have it
all here and be done with the storage unit thing, but it's kind of a
bummer too, because we were all done unpacking and now the living room is
full of stuff again. They also brought some windows with them which
Dennis had found really cheap. They were misordered windows or
something. Jason and Dennis went around to window places here and found
a couple more. They installed them Friday and Saturday. So Yay! We
have 5 new windows. There's still a lot of cleaning up, trimming, and
caulking to do on them, which is my job. They look great. Laurie is
doing surprisingly well. She's had 3 rounds of chemo and one week off.
The main lump has shrunk 2 centimeters, and the doctor couldn't even feel
the swellings in her lymph nodes anymore. She's much more comfortable as
far as the cancer goes. The chemo makes her very tired for about a day
and a half. Other than that she's doing very well. Her doctor says he
doesn't think they can cure it, but will probably be able to maintain it
with a good degree of comfort. Her hair was coming out enough that she
asked me to shave her head while she was here. I didn't shave it, just
did a half inch buzz. Her head isn't patchy or funny looking yet, so we
left it at that. I also was able to make her some hats to take home.
Jason bought all his books. Ouch. He's so excited to start. He even
started reading one of the books. Only 3 more weeks. We better get lots
of fun in while the kids still recognize their dad.
Now that I've taken up a whole page with my post, I think I'm done
ranting.
