Amy's Happiness

I don't really have one specific secret for happiness, there are so many things that make me happy. The first thing that comes to mind is my children. They make me happy every day. I love to see them smiling and belly-laughing. And, like Mindy, I am happy to tears when my children make the right choice all on their own, especially when it's something difficult. I am happiest when my marriage relationship is good, and right now it's really good. I have found that my level of happiness will increase or decrease according to how often I read my scriptures. When I read every day, even if it's 5 minutes, I am much more patient and even-tempered. That makes the whole house happy!
I love to be alone! I think that's why I stay up so late at night. I love to read and go out to lunch alone and shop without kids. I guess I am good company for myself. If I weren't I would never be alone cause it would be miserable. I am also a closet eater -- when I am alone I can eat anything I want and no one will think anything about it or ask me to share because they don't know about it. I know you are all nodding right now - you know who you are. I also have to wait until just before I go to bed to read scriptures because I get absolutely nothing out of it if the kids are awake. If I'm alone I can take time to re-read things and really think about them. It makes them much easier to read and understand. As much as I like to be alone, I much prefer to spend time with my family. We can have such a great time together!
